La lingua del Moremi

La sveglia è prima dell’alba nella Moremi Tongue, l’estremità orientale e più arida dell’omonima Game Reserve, in Botswana [English version below]. Il sole indugia appena sotto l’orizzonte e il cielo è già in piena emorragia mattutina.

La vastità della savana mai sopita si manifesta appena fuori dalla tenda e durante le abluzioni mattutine si può scoprire quanto sia rumoroso il mondo senza traffico: una brezza scuote l’erba e i radi alberi, gli uccelli intonano cinguettii, un elefante barrisce. Da chissà dove giunge il verso di un ippopotamo: potrebbe anche esser vicino.

La Riserva deve il nome al capo batawana Moremi III e occupa una superficie di quasi 5.000 kmq, comprendendo al suo interno anche il famoso delta dell’Okawango. L’area è un’oasi prolifica di flora e fauna, dove è presente la più alta densità di animali del paese tra cui i grandi cinque, the big five: leoni, leopardi, bufali, elefanti e rinoceronti. Moremi Tongue
The wake up is very early in the Moremi Tongue, the eastern end and driest homonymous Game Reserve, in Botswana. The sun lingers just below the horizon and the sky is already in full bleeding morning.

The vastness of the savannah never died down occurs just outside the tent and during the morning ablutions you can find out how noisy the world is without traffic: a breeze shakes the grass and sparse trees, singing birds chirping, an elephant trumpets. From somewhere comes the sound of a hippopotamus: it could also be near.

The reserve is named after the chief Batawana Moremi III and occupies an area of nearly 5,000 square kilometers, including inside the famous delta dell’Okawango. The area is a haven prolific flora and fauna, where there is the highest density of animals in the country including the big five, the big five: lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino.
